Project Crescendo ("Crescendo," "we," "our," or "us") operates a hyper-personalized magazine platform that uses data from third-party platforms you authorize — including Pinterest and Spotify — to generate editorial content tailored specifically to you. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.

By connecting a third-party account to Crescendo, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data We Collect

We collect data only when you explicitly authorize it by connecting a platform account. We do not collect data passively or without your consent.

• Pinterest: Board names, saved pin content, and interest categories — used to analyze your visual and aesthetic preferences. Accessed via Pinterest's official OAuth API.
• Spotify: Top artists, top tracks, and listening history — used to analyze your sonic identity and cultural affinities. Accessed via Spotify's official OAuth API.
• Account information: Name and email address, if provided during sign-up or contact.

We do not collect your Pinterest passwords, your full pin history, your private messages, or any data beyond what is required to generate your personalized magazine.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to generate your personalized Crescendo magazine edition. Specifically:

• To analyze your aesthetic preferences across five personalization dimensions
• To generate AI-written articles, imagery, and editorial content tailored to you
• To produce a physical or digital magazine edition unique to your identity

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not aggregate your data across users to build audience profiles.

3. How We Share Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, with the following narrow exceptions:

• AI generation services: Anonymized preference signals (not your name or account identifiers) may be sent to AI content generation APIs to produce your magazine articles and imagery.
• Print production: Your name and mailing address (if provided) are shared with our print and fulfillment partner solely to deliver your physical edition.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by applicable law or valid legal process.

4. Data Retention

We retain your connected platform data only as long as necessary to generate your magazine. Once your edition is produced, we do not retain your raw Pinterest or Spotify data. You may request deletion of any data we hold at any time (see Section 8).

5. Third-Party Platform Policies

Crescendo connects to Pinterest and Spotify via their official OAuth APIs. Your use of those platforms is also governed by their own privacy policies:

• Spotify: spotify.com/us/legal/privacy-policy

We request only the minimum API permissions necessary to personalize your magazine. We do not store your OAuth tokens beyond your active session.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to protect your data. API tokens are handled server-side and are never exposed in browser-accessible code. We do not store raw access tokens after your session ends. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously.

7. Children's Privacy

Crescendo is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Deletion: Request that we delete your data at any time
• Revocation: Disconnect your Pinterest or Spotify account at any time via that platform's app settings
• Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate data we hold

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The updated date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Crescendo after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
